The S-5-S (S for 'Snap-lock') is designed for popular snap-together profiles such as Taylor Metals and Easy Lock. It also fits traditional single-fold (angle-seam) horizontal profiles with a seam height of at least 1 inch and a horizontal dimension of 0.54 inches or less.
Does the S-5-S clamp require drilling through the roof?+
No, it is a non-penetrating clamp. It uses two round-point setscrews to create a mechanical interlock with the seam, preserving the weather-tight integrity and warranty of your metal roof.
What hardware is included with the S-5-S clamp?+
The standard S-5-S clamp includes the high-tensile aluminum clamp body, two stainless steel round-point setscrews, and one M10 stainless steel hex bolt for attaching accessories.
How much torque should be applied to the setscrews?+
For 22-gauge steel, setscrews should be tensioned to 160-180 inch-pounds. For all other metals and thinner steel, the recommended tension is 130-150 inch-pounds. Always use a calibrated torque wrench for installation.
